Making mistakes in fashion is not an absolute crime. Experts make it. Remember; only if you know fashion can you realize the mistakes in it. The point is to learn from mistakes. You do not need expert advice to know what mistake means in fashion. If you follow a trend, it naturally carries some ‘’Dos and Don’ts.
Take a look at yourself in the mirror from all angles taking some time and judge yourself as a third person. Does everything seem right? How do you feel you might look to others? Are you dressed up flawlessly from head to toe? No? Study the flaw carefully and think of ways to correct it.
Here are some points to keep in mind while looking out for flaws in fashion :
- Wear fitting Clothes – Do your clothes fit you? Do you have enough space to move and breathe? Whatever your size may be, make sure you don’t need to struggle to get into it. If you wear clothes that are too tight for you, you might end up suffocating people who look at you! Don’t look like a pressure cooker that is about to burst!
- Does that color suit you? Liked Manisha Koirala so much in that irresistible ice blue salwar ? Or that sleek gorgeous green car? So, want a costume of the same color? Don’t decide your costume color without thinking. A shade that looks good on a certain skin tone or an object need not necessarily compliment your body figure or skin color. Take a close friend with you when you shop. She might judge your skin and body line better as a third person.
- Mix ‘n’ match or mix ‘n’ mismatch? If you wish to go for color options between two pieces of the same clothing, choose wisely. It is important that two colors worn together blend well. Putting it simply, the colors on your body should relate.
- Cover up well – Make sure your under garments stay where they should. Don’t let your bra straps fall off your shoulders and that your panty and bra lines are not visible. To stay confident and comfortable, wear under garments of the right size.
- Go for the right accessories: Pick the right accessories for your attire. Accessories are as important as the costume itself. It is like an apt title to a story. For instance, rings may not suit certain ear lobe shapes. Similar is the choice between long and round bindis.
- Brush up your make-up lessons – Your face should look bright and pleasant in any dress that you wear. This is taken care of not entirely by what you wear but what you put on your face and how well. I remember having whispered into my friend’s ear many a time about a fellow traveler’s bad taste for facial make-up. See to it that you don’t become a laughing stock for this reason.
- Update yourself – Don’t take fashion for granted. It will do you good to know the general trend of the day. You need not flip through endless fashion magazines or take cues from Hindi serials. Observe those around you. Do you and your friend live in the same century as far as fashion is concerned? Your ultimate aim is to look appealing to all who see you. So don’t miss the latest train to fashion town!
