Marriage and Good Health?

Several research studies were conducted to find the relationship between health and marriage. They show that married people live longer and healthier lives. Researches have shown that married women have lower stress levels than unmarried women.

It is found that being unmarried is one of the greatest risks that people voluntarily subject themselves to. Here we present the research findings and what they talk about relationship between marriage and health.

Marriage Decreases Health Risk

It is found that sick people who are married live longer than their unmarried counterparts. Having a spouse lowers a cancer patient’s risk of dying. Just being married lowers a patient’s risk of dying in the hospital. Scientists who have studied immune functioning in the laboratory found that happily married couples have better-functioning immune systems. Even, married people are less likely to have problems with alcohol abuse or illegal drugs.

Marriage Improves your Mental Health

Marriage is good for your mental health. Compared to unmarried, widowed or divorced people, married men and women are less depressed, less anxious, and less psychologically distressed. Getting divorced or widowed lowers both men’s and women’s mental health, increasing depression and hostility.

Getting married gives individuals a better improvement in mental health. When people divorced, they suffered substantial deterioration in mental and emotional well-being. It increased depression and declined happiness.

Marriage Gives happiness and satisfaction

Married persons have a significantly higher level of happiness than persons who are not married. Marriage boosts financial satisfaction also. But cohabitation does not increase financial satisfaction or perceived health. It has been found that married people have the highest level of subjective well-being, followed by the widowed.

You can also converse on ‘before marriage fun’ – how you dated first time and how you lied to your parents about meeting each other. You laugh and share more stories of your fun and less than fun adventures together. The bond between you is renewed.

Happy Sex Life

Married people report that they have an extremely satisfying sex life than singles or cohabiters. Wives, for example, are almost twice as likely as divorced and never-married women to have a sex life that is extremely satisfying emotionally. Happy sex life is very important for keeping up your health.

Marriage is Totally Different Than Any Other Relationship

Married people are both responsible to each other. They try to live more responsible, fruitful, and satisfying lives. Marriage changes the way two people look at each other, at the future, and at their roles in society. Marriage means – sexual fidelity, an economic union, a parenting alliance, and the promise of care that transcends day-to-day emotions. So it changes the attitude of people. It makes them live together and care for each other.
