Hysterectomy is the process in which removal of female uterus. This is done by making an incision in vagina or on the abdomen. The process of hysterectomy can either be a partial one or it can be a total hysterectomy. A partial hysterectomy involves the removal of only the upper part of the uterus whereas the total hysterectomy involves the removal of the entire uterus along with the cervix.
Removal Of Cervix In Hysterectomy:
The process of total hysterectomy involves the removal of both the uterus and the cervix. Along with the uterus and cervix, fallopian tubes, and ovaries can also be removed. The removal of the parts depends on the gravity of the infection or the reason due to which the operation is taking place. Normally, the ovaries are not removed as to avoid the risk of ovarian cancer.
In case the ovaries are removed it brings about a sudden menopause in that women. This happens due to sudden loss of hormones in the body.
Process Of Total Hysterectomy:
In this process, a incision is made at the vagina and the necessary parts removed. Since the incision is a a small one it did not require much of the time to heal up.
