Anorexia is an emotional disorder in which the eating habits of the patient get affected. Although the person is underweight but still they will keep on dieting to lose more. This habit is more prevalent in women as compared to men. This syndrome can have some serious results as the patient could even die.

The genetic inheritances can one the main cause for developing this syndrome. Differences in the chemicals of the brain can also lead to development of such syndrome.

The treatment of this syndrome begins at home. First and foremost the family and friends of such patients will have to realize that he/ she is suffering from such a disease. They will have to take proper care of the patient and make sure that he or she has a proper food in all their meals. All their excuses of not taking food must be avoided and they must be given their full.

Apart from these, a medical assistance must be taken which will help the patient in regaining their lost weight by using necessary nutrition replacement. Then consultation of psychiatrist is also equally important. Such treatment uses cognitive behavioral and psychotherapeutic methods of treatment.

Treatment of this syndrome also requires some changes in lifestyle also as establishing a regular habit of having healthy diet, stick to your treatment and diet or meal plan as allotted by your physician, participating in family and Friends Company to avoid stress and emotional issues. You must avoid your urge of weighing yourself and checking your physical appearance every often. You will have to cut off on exercise plan in order to gain weight.
