A working woman often finds it difficult to balance work and home. The question that arises under such circumstances is – how does she contribute towards the family growth and development? After all, she plays a pivotal role in the upbringing of the child, running the household budget, making sure her hubby dear is happy and so on so forth. Let us look into her role in the daily family matters that cannot be overlooked by her commitment to work.
Working Woman in Family Scenario
- She has to decide when to have her child. After all, giving birth to a child means added responsibility. She has to take care of her job and her child. She cannot leave matters entirely to her spouse
- Educating and bringing up the child require a lot of patience and hard work. She also has to give sufficient priority to ensuring that her child gets proper education. After all, apart from working for one’s own satisfaction, one also gets much pleasure if the child fares well at school
- Her income adds to the family budget. She is in a better position to provide for her family well. She might sacrifice on her personal pleasures, but she derives much pleasure in sharing her earnings with other members of the family
- She commands much respect in the family as often she may be shouldering the responsibility of a bread winner in case her spouse for some reason is unable to do so
- A working woman may often be appreciative of her husband’s work commitments as she is quite aware how important it is for a person to meet up to deadlines and work under pressure
- A working woman understands the value of money. After all, she also struggles hard for it. She is careful about how she spends her family income
- From the health point of view, a working woman is more conscious about maintaining her health. She ensures she relaxes, takes proper diet, gets adequate rest. She needs to maintain optimum levels of energy. This applies to her family as well. She makes sure that her family members also maintain good health
- She is in a position to inculcate a sense of responsibility in her children. Shouldering responsibility herself, she can guide her children to be successful in their respective careers by being responsible
- A working woman values her time. She cannot afford to waste time on trivial matters. Such an attitude can also be inculcated in her children as well
- A woman who is exposed to the outside world is better informed and is quite knowledgeable. She is well equipped to enhance the knowledge of her children
A working woman need not necessarily be a disadvantage to the growth and development of a family. She also has much to offer in terms of grooming her children and providing them with requisite skills to cope up with life outside the four walls. She is woman in her own right!
