Crime against women is on the increase. Women are subjected to rape, domestic violence and molestation. Single women often feel afraid to live alone. Husbands threaten their wives in homes. Naturally, women need to learn self-defense technique to protect themselves. They have to be bold, courageous and strong, both emotionally and physically. They should be in a position to challenge the aggression of a man. How is this possible?
How Women Can Practice Self-defense Techniques
- It is good to learn martial art techniques, to be able to inflict blows upon the attackers. These techniques will also teach how to take blows, how to fall down properly and be able to get up at once. They are taught in several institutes
- There are also specialized self-defense courses available. They help those who are physically unfit and teach how to cope with a particular situation. They focus upon self-confidence and assertion
- Self-defense videos and books are also available. You can practise these techniques with the help of male friends
- Universities also conduct such courses. Walking on the campus at late hours can be quite unsafe
- Hitting the attacker on the groin, digging your fingers into him, punching, spitting or biting etc are some of the self-defense techniques that can be used against an attacker
- Once you have hit him do not wait to see if he is hurt. Just run as fast as you can. Get away from the scene of attack
- One can keep handy weapons such umbrellas, keys, pepper spray etc to hit the attacker
Women should be in a position to confront the attacker. Self-defense techniques will make them more confident and they can move around more freely. They need not adhere to the old cliché of being the vulnerable sex anymore.
