According to the revealings of recent research studies, the women with bliss in their marriage, recover fast from the everyday stress.

Let’s Know What The Research Reveals

The study has been done by Darby E Saxbe, a graduate in clinical psychology from the University of California Los Angeles. The researchers tracked down the levels of cortisol that is an important stress hormone, among thirty married couples. “At least as far as women are concerned, being happily married appears to bolster physiological recovery from work,” said Saxbe. Apart from that, the group of researchers also collected saliva samples at four intervals. The samples have been analyzed for testing the cortisol concentrations. During the stressful conditions, cortisol hormones are released by the adrenal glands.

This hormone secretion is believed to be a reliable marker to track an individual’s response to as well as the recovery from stress. Generally the level of the hormone secretion is high in the morning and it steadily goes down as the day proceeds.

According to the analysis of the research, the happily married women normally enjoy the stronger cortisol declines than those, who are unhappy in their married life.

“After a tough day at office, cortisol levels dropped further among happily married women than less happily married ones. Less happily married women also showed a flatter daily pattern of cortisol release, suggesting that they are rebounding less well from everyday stress,” said Saxbe.
