For getting rid of really bad cramps I take a pamprin (like midol but better.) Also everyone has heard of using a heating pad of some kind. One you may not have heard though is yoga. There different positions that can help relieve pain. I stumbled upon one myself on accident.
Get on all fours (on your bed or the floor. the later is best) and then put your head down. You can rest your head on the floor itself or use a pillow. You can move your arms into a more comfortable position if you want. Basically you’re sticking your butt in the air. It looks silly, you may feel goofy at first, but believe me if you’re in enough pain you’ll try anything. And after a few minutes you’ll be glad you tryed this.
Obviously this one is for at home. I use it to relieve pain until my pamprin kicks in. Then I’m good as new!

I get severe cramps and what helps me is low fat high fiber vegan diet high in magnesium vitamin B and calcium , hot baths, strong raspberry ,mint ,ginger and fennel tea, and exercise especially the kind that works abs like pilates. I also stay away from drinking and smoking.
